The Seven Lines Prayer of Guru Rinpoche

Image
The prayer of seven vajra verses is commonly known as Guru Rinpoche’s prayer. The Vajra refers to something that is stable, unchanging and indestructible, which can destroy all negativities, adverse circumstances, obstacles and be all-victorious. There is no (obstacle) so firm that (the vajra) cannot remove.

The prayer of seven vajra verses has an exceptionally strong blessing. It is the most sublime amongst all the various supplication prayers to Guru Rinpoche. In Tibet, those great accomplished masters would mostly recite this prayer while giving blessings to the devotees. As Guru Rinpoche once said, “Reciting this prayer will invoke and invite all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.”

When oneself or others feel any discomfort in the body, or if the environment is unclean, or when meeting with any obstacle or negative provocation, just reciting this prayer of seven vajra verses with a completely sincere mind, all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Gurus, Triple Gems, virtuous protecting Dharmapalas would be sure to arrive and render help or give blessings.

If you really recite this prayer from your heart, then there’s no way that you can avoid bringing Guru Rinpoche forth and invoking him. So it’s extremely powerful. And you should practice it at all times continually. . . If you really focus on the Seven-Line Prayer, then it is certain that the blessings will come. The blessings of Guru Rinpoche will spring out and be born in your mind stream.

Vajrasattva practice

I have a Vajrasattva Practice discovered by HH Jigme Phuntsok in 1997.  It is a recent terma suitable for our times and replete with blessings and especially has a karmic connection with all Chinese people, although everyone can do it and receive the full blessings.  If anyone wants to do this practice, it can be done without transmission / initiation.  Many people have done it and received the signs of successful purification.  It is said in the colophon:

“In this life, one will be able to eliminate any dangers and extend one’s lifespan, increase one’s wealth, remove illnesses etc, attaining all that one wishes. In the next life, one will definitely take rebirth in the pureland of Amitabha or whichever pureland one aspires to be reborn in. This practice which removes obstacles can be practised by anyone, whether he is following the exoteric Mahayana schools, Secret Mantra (Vajrayana) schools or even if he has yet to receive initiation. Everyone should understand this clearly. This is authenticated by Jigme Phuntsok at the Larong Buddhist University in the presence of some tens of thousands of ordained monastics. May auspiciousness increase!”

If you wish to do this practice, please note that there is a commitment of 400,000 mantras of OM BENZA SATO HUNG to be accomplished within 2 years from the date of receiving the sadhana.  It is up to you. If you wish to commit, please email me vajrasattvadawn at gmail dot com.  The sadhana includes Tibetan transliteration and there are english and  chinese meaning-translation versions.  You can tell me which language you prefer.
