  1. Dear Sir/Madam

I am looking for either a recording, transcript etc of the following teaching in ENGLISH :

“His Holiness Jigme Phongtsok Rinpoche had fervently aspired to spread this special practice for those who have unshakable faith in Dharma, and promised to show up in person during the intermediate state of bardo after death to guide the deceased practitioner on the path towards the pure realm. It is taught that whoever accomplishes 1,000,000 times of Amitabha recitation is guaranteed to reach the goal of taking rebirth in the pure realm. This is a skillful mean for practitioners who are preoccupied with worldly matters and have very limited time for practice. It is also extremely beneficial to the deceased families, friends, beloved pets or animals if one can recite for them at the time of their passing. ”

    It should be in English.

Please let me know as soon as possible.

    Thanks and regards

    • Sorry Stephen, I do not have any teaching related to that. But i do have a sadhana by HH Jigme Phuntsok on Amitabha which bestows the siddhi of rebirth in Amitabha pureland, if:
      1. You have completed 400,000 Vajrasattva mantra using his Vajrasattva terma
      2. You have completed 300,000 Amitabha mantras using his Amitabha terma
      3. You recite an additional 1 million times name of Amitabha.

Following this, you do not commit any serious negativities. Plus you have a very strong wish and aspiration to be reborn in Amitabha pureland.

You can email me at vajrasattvadawn at gmail dot com.

      • Just wanted to thank you for leaving Dudjom Rinpoche’s last prayer here. That is so valuable for all beings! (I am a student of Lama Tharchin Rinpoche)

  4. Hello!
I am facing the death of my beloved dog, best friend and companion. He passed away today and I want to help him have an auspicious bardo passage and especially a good rebirth. I have read Bardo Thodol and done teh Chenrezig Sadhana and Heart Sutra Recitation. Tomorrow we will cremate him. What should we do while cremation is going on?
Thank you so much for your advice and support!

  5. Dear Editor and Blog Contributors,

I wish to praise you all for creating and maintaining this excellent blog of Dharma. Your blog is like a beacon of light in the darkness.

I especially wish to praise you for this important and profound post:

It is certainly without a shadow of doubt that hunting, fishing, animal slaughter and meat packing is causing great amounts of evil karma and strangulating our world into a dismal atmosphere of negativity.

For instance, according to the ADAPTT’s Animal Kill counter, 150 billion animals are slaughtered every year. The counter also lists the amount of animals (by category) that has been killed since the website was accessed. I found out that in just 30 seconds, over 100,000 animals have already been killed. (

Thus, a few billion humans kill hundreds of billions of animals every year. With this sort of evil karma floating around, we must be very grateful for the blessings of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, because without them, it would be impossible for the condition of our world to remain tolerable in any way.

Also, for those interested in life liberation, I reccommend that you visit the following webpages:

    Tainan Avalokitesvara Homeland Buddhist Association

    Sanctuary gallery:

This Association is registered charity with the government of Taiwan. Their mission is to save cattle, pigs, rabbits, poultry, goats, fish and the like from slaughter by purchasing them and moving them to their sprawling animal sanctuary in Tainan county, where they will live in safety, comfort and dignity for the rest of their lives.

Lasty, I have recently translated Qing Dynasty Upasaka Zhou An Shi’s Discourse on the Forty Eight Inquiries of Non Violence. If you are interested in reading the eminent Upasaka’s profound and convincing exhortations against killing, the link is here:

  6. Dear Bodhi Activity,

By chance I came across the blog post ‘’ on this site. This seems to have ben take in its entirety from ‘’, but without acknowledgement or link back or any further information. Would it be possible for you to link back to ‘’ where the teaching can be found in a number of languages?

    Many thanks,

    • I do not think i took it from that site. I posted this a very long time ago. This text is widely circulated. That site probably took the entire text from another source too. Regards.

      • Thank you very much for your reply. I hadn’t realised it was such a widespread text. Thank you for letting me know.
